Looks like I haven't completely forgotten how to club (though that particular verb formation looks rather odd to me) after B-movie last night. Had a wonderful time, and for once managed to feel entirely unselfconscious about taking my shirt off to dance. Spent time with lots of lovely people - special mention goes to [livejournal.com profile] friend_of_tofu and [livejournal.com profile] spikeylady. Very special mention goes of course to [livejournal.com profile] redcountess.

Note to self: do NOT leave the house without energy bars, boiled sweets, or something. It may be summer now, but that's no excuse for leaving all the portable life-support system things in the pockets of my warm jacket or the heavy satchel. We survived without incident, but I did feel a bit queasy on the way back. I feel entirely wiped out right now, but that's as much to do with not feeding myself properly as much as anything else.

Other than physically, I feel great - a good friendly club, nice people (though, roll on July 1st) and I got to feel good about dancing for the first time since, er, probably last September. My self-image is clearly in better shape than it used to be. I really haven't been getting out enough.

Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post for the constructive criticism. Yes, this is a shameless request for more, why do you ask?

Tomorrow, to the pub!

All the free chocolate you can eat, though!

Ah, I missed that. My body's funny about chocolate, though, so I don't use it for medicinal purposes except in outright emergencies. Normally I carry boiled sweets or glacier mints.

They also have little UFO-shaped sweets with glucose or dextrose in them. Fabulously crappy.

Flying saucers! I had one of those on the way out, they always remind me of Saturday's penny-sweet ration when I was young. Though they're not nearly so good now as they were when they had real sherbet in.

Doves Farm (http://www.dovesfarm-organic.co.uk/cakes-flapjacks-bars.htm) and Geobar (http://www.traidcraft.co.uk/template2.asp?pageID=1859) fulfil my portable energy needs, and they're Fairtrade too. :) Geobar have a new blueberry flavour out, which is quite nice.

It was indeed very good to see you and you seemed to be having LOADS of fun :¬)

Have you tried those raw food Nakd bars? They are probably slower energy release than boiled sweets but they are very nice and are probably a little more filling too, which is good if you need them at 2am!

Never seen those, but they sound ideal so far - where do you get them?

Health food shops, mainly, tho I have seen them in some larger branches of Boots (I think). I have had the apple flavour, berry flavour and a sort of chocolatey flavour so far. They're tasty. Not cheap, but they're a good food source so I think that's OK.
