Writing style meme

Apparently, I'm 2/3rds James Joyce (one fiction piece, one nonfiction) and 1/3rd HP Lovecraft (fiction). I suppose there are far worse possibilities.

Yeah, that's better than my writing style: based on my book blog (two separate posts), it informed me that I write like Dan Brown. I am sulking.

Have you heard about a big kerfuffle going on because apparently the list of authors is entirely white and almost entirely male, and when requested to improve this a bit, the guy who created the meme managed to piss everyone off by refusing to add non-white authors? The racefail is the same sort that we see time and again, but the bit that I find more unusual is the way that what is evidently someone's personal list of favourite authors has been given such authority and turned into Teh Canon.
