[livejournal.com profile] elettaria has started blogging about accessibility issues - her first post, on computer use, is here. Very much recommended.

Actually, it's sort of the second post, it's just the one where I made a thing out of announcing what I'm doing. The first one is here (http://elettaria.livejournal.com/70443.html) and is a simple review.

Thanks for recommending me!

Do you mind if I pass this link to a friend? She is visually impaired and doing a sociology PhD about the barriers faced by students with print impairments in higher education, and the adjustments that universities make. She is very interested in assistive technology.

Please do! I could practically be a test subject for her, in fact. I fondly remember all those times I would give new tutors a sheaf of coloured paper for them to print hand-outs onto, and they'd promise happily to do so and then never do a thing. Not to mention all those dreadful hand-outs which had been re-photocopied again and again since 1985 and were barely legible quite before you got to the print size.
