My birthday celebrations, in the Pembury Tavern from around 5ish onwards. I confidently expect lots of people to be there, hopefully including you. Original invitation here.

Oh, and something I discovered yesterday - Richard Kadrey's novel Butcher Bird is available for free download. It's a well-written gore-filled story of a tattoo artist who gets dragged into a shadowy world of demons and monsters.

Hope you have a great time! I'm not going to make it mainly because I've been in London the past two weekends and partly because Sunday evenings just don't work unless I take Monday off work.

I never heard back from my former work colleague about meeting up on Sunday, despite a few emails asking whether she wanted to still meet up. So, onward. I would be glad to be at the Pembury to help celebrate your birthday! (hopefully I can go with someone who knows how to find it).

Also, I'll be in London on the preceding Friday (this one) from late morning onward; I don't know what your schedule is, but if you can meet up during the day for a chat that would be quieter and more personable than a party at a pub, I would love to. It would be great to see redcountess too.

Whups. I just checked my rail ticket and I see that I had the departure times confused with the *next* time I'm going to be leaving London for Durham, which will be 5 May.

This Sunday, I'll be leaving on the train from King's Cross at 18:30. So I guess that I'll have to give the Pembury a miss. But I'd still love to meet up on Friday, if possible. Are you guys in London or in Cambridge?

Excellent! If you email me at LJ, I can give you my mobile number. If you also give me a contact number, we can coordinate when I get into town on Friday (should be around 11-noonish). I'm definitely going to want to go to Lush while I'm in London. Perhaps you and/or redcountess might want to be a part of that too? There's also a fabulous veggie restaurant in Covent Garden that's one of my favourite places in the world and if you've never gone, then really I should show it to you.
