"Radical Islamic cleric states that the law of the land is above the law of Islam."

"The insult has been established now by everybody, Muslim and non-Muslim, and everybody condemns the cartoonist and condemns the cartoon," [exiled radical cleric Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad] told the BBC's Today programme. "However, in Islam, God said, and the messenger Muhammad said, whoever insults a prophet, he must be punished and executed. This man should be put on trial and if it is proven to be executed."

The cleric added that Muslims in Britain were not allowed to kill people who insulted Islam because it was against the law of the country.

An extra piece of context - Bakri and the now-disbanded al-Muhajiroun follow the ideology of Hizb- ut-Tahrir, which is currently in danger of becoming a proscribed organization here in the UK. (A course of action I dislike, for moral and practical reasons - it would be rather hypocritical for us, of all nations, to consider advocating the conquest and remoulding of large parts of the world illegal.)

They were never a terrorist training group by any means, but did (do) serve as a portal to radical Islam.
