I should start using this thing again. Which also means I should follow more people. Recommend me some? I'm hesitant just to do a random walk through my friends' friends, because that feels intrusive.
Hello, I hope you do in fact start posting here more, it would be really nice to see you around more regularly as part of my online community. Who might you get on with, hm? Our reading lists have quite a lot of overlap as it is.
If you don't know kaberett you really should. They are all-round awesome, scientist, poet, Queer activist. They also really helpfully recently posted an introductions post where you can find all kinds of new people to follow.
Check out staranise; she posts really insightful stuff, including about psychology, disability, social justice, media etc, and has explicitly said she welcomes new subscribers. She's really interested in what happens to adults who as kids were precocious intellectually and possibly somewhat excluded / later developing socially.
Other people who have at least partly public blogs and welcome interaction from relative strangers are nanila, awesome space scientist, and metaphortunate, snarktastic feminist. Both of them have young kids and also talk about thoughtful parenting a bit.
Also, Matt is box_of_pangolins on here, and while I don't know when if ever he'll start actually using the account, I suggest adding him now in the hope that at some point he will. ;-)

Date: 2014-09-26 04:42 pm (UTC)it's a shame that the interface still feels a decade old, but that's much much much less important than the features and community.
don't have any names to recommend, though, being new myself
