Same sort of thing here (in the US, Caifornia). I just got told I don't qualify for any benefits because I am enrolled in school.
This after my forms spent eight weeks (when I wasn't enrolled in school, and so would have qualified), in the wrong office. They spotted it the moment they actually looked at the possibilty of setting me up.
But, no one noticed that I lived on the wrong street, for that office, until I was in the office; and had spent eight weeks living on what little reserve I still have.
And so there with all the pain of having to be an abject failure for them, while being called a deadbeat/failure/etc. by society.
It's exhausting. All I need is a little bit of help, not a teat to suck for the rest of my days, just some money for food while I wait for the stipend the Army owes me for going to school kicks in.
