I propose a summer picnic in a London park, combined with a readthrough of Midsummer Night's Dream. It's a terrible cliche, but that's no reason not to do it.

From my point of view, the best date is Saturday 11th July - not only is it better for availability, but it's also the day after my one-year dating anniversary with [livejournal.com profile] mirabehn, so celebrations are definitely in order.

I haven't settled on a park yet; advice from those more experienced at arranging London picnics would be lovely. Partners, small children, and pets will be very much welcome.

Beneath the cut, find ye a poll and a rubric thereunto.

I'd like to use a full cast, with no doubling. This means that some people will get less to do than others, and some people will get less to watch than others, but that's how it goes. It will be a modern dress production, mostly, so don't worry about costume (unless of course you want to) and don't go overboard with props (unless of course you want to).

In the interests of not disappointing people unnecessarily, I will almost certainly be casting myself as Puck (though you do have a small chance to persuade me otherwise, if you really want to and think you'll be good at it). If you don't get the part you wanted, or even don't get a part at all (if we have that much interest - there are 23 parts) then it isn't because I don't like you or admire your acting, and it definitely isn't because I don't want to see you.

oooh, yay! :o) :o) i'd love to have one of the big girl parts, but i'd be predictably and entirely happy with anything. Can't sing well tho. (altho doesn't one of the lovers have a crow's voice, or something? that's, er, appropriate...) :oP
