'blog'

Somewhere around the beginning of this year, a small but nonzero proportion of the population of the internet started referring to individual blog posts as 'blogs' - as in 'that was a great blog, thank you for posting it' or 'There's a great new blog up at Foo Bar'.

Normally, this kind of information-destroying linguistic drift wouldn't bother me (especially since it's not widespread) but I've seen it in several apparently unconnected places (the Guardian Comment Is Free comments, the comment threads of some actually-respected blogs, and in personal conversation with people I know don't read either of those) and can't find the source. My Google-fu is failing me in my attempts to design a search string.

Any ideas? Am I the only one who's noticed this?
