You're very much welcome, and I hope your own situation improves soon. Whether or not state assistance is something we're entitled to (either by right of citizenship, by tax paid, or by service) is something we can all debate forever, but at the moment they're promising it to us and then not delivering, which is the worst of all.

I had an address problem too; current policy in the UK is to take postcode & house number, and confirm the street. Unfortunately, one letter changed in my postcode means another street with a similar-sounding name, which meant nobody noticed the problem until I tried to identify myself to them. Since the address I thought I lived at didn't match the one on their computer, I clearly wasn't me, and thus couldn't get to the point in the system where any of the information they held could be changed.
