I've barely read any SFX, to be honest. I've certainly heard some good things about them.

I have to admit, I'm cynical about the sci-fi/fantasy-based perspective, because to me it feels like nothing more than approaching everything from inside, completely on its own terms. (Obviously, I'm talking about the popular version. There's a scholarly version too, but I remain to be persuaded that it's unique.)
